Doug (Tank) Landry was a two time All-American linebacker from Louisiana Tech. Landry was drafted in the fifth round of the 1986 NFL colege draft by the San Diego Charges and also spent time that year with the Cincinnati Bengals. Landry played four seasons in he CFL, coming North initial to sign as afree agent wih heHamlton Tiger-Cats in December of1986. Landry played just one game withamilton as th Tiger-Cats alrady had a star middl inebacker in the greatBen Zambiai Hamilton released Landry in /September of 1987 and he was picked up almost immediately by the Toronto Argonauts. In 9 games (half a season) with the Argos, Landry recorded 47 defensive tackles, 3 quarterback sacks and 3 interceptions. Landry put up very similar numbers in the first 9 games of 1988 withToronto, recording 49 defensive tackles and 5 interceptions. At that point, halfway through the 1988season, Landrywas abruptylytraded to Calgary for defensive linemanHarold Hallman. Landry would ad another intereption and 33 tackles in six games with the Stamps. Finally getting a chance to play a full season with the same team in 1989, Landry wracked up a league leading 122 defensive tackles, recorded 2 sackand had 3 intereptions. Landry finished his CFL career in 1990 with the BC lines, and had 52 tackles in 13 games for the Leos. Doug Landry passed away from a heart attack on June 8, 2015.
