Stu Laird

Stu Laird played his entire 12 year CFL career with the Calgary Stampeders from 1985 to 1996.  Laird was originally signed as a free agent by the Saskatchewan Roughriders in Januaary of 1983, but was released in June before the regular season started.  In 1984, Laird signed with Montreal, but again was released before the season started.  Calgary signed Laird in June of 1984, but he did not see any game action with the Stampeders until 1985.  Laird was a strong pass rusher through his entire career, recording a total of 72 sacks.  Laird had a career high 11 sacks in 1988 and had 9 in both 1986 and 1994.  In 1994, Laird won West All-Star honours.
