Kevin Konar

kevin Konar is aBC boy through and through. Konar was born in Vancouver, played his college football at UBC and then joined the BC Lions.  Konar played his entire ten year career in the CFL at linebacker with the Lions from 1980 to 1989. Konar was one of the top linebackers i nthe league in that decade, winning two West All-Stars in 1985 and 1987 and two CFL All-Stars in the same seasons.  Konar went to the Grey Cup three time with the Lions during his career.  The Lions lost to Toronto in 1983, beat Hamilton in the 1985 classic and lost to Winnipeg in 1988.

Konar's tackle stats are incomplete since they were first officially kept only in 1987.  Konar did record 14 career interceptions, 17 career fumble recoveries and 28.5 career quarterback sacks. Konar had one career touchdown on an interception return in 1982. Konar was also a very durable player, missing only one regular season game in his ten year career. Following the end of his playing career, Kevin Konar has had a very successful second career in business with RBC Dominion Securities as a portfolio manager..
