Michael Klassen was born in Cagary and played his college ball awith the University of Calgary Dinos. Klassen was drafted in the fourth round of the 2013 CFL college draft and won a spot with the Alouettes that season. Klassen was eligible to become a free agent following the 2014 season, butresigned with Montreal (see below). Defensive tackle Michael Klassen signed a new two-year contract with the club. "Michael has a high ceiling. He has continued to grow at a rapid pace, just like he did from start to finish during his last season of CIS football", said Alouettes General Manager Jim Popp. "He was having a great 2014 season before the season ending injury.
