Peter Kempf

Peter Kempf played college ball at UBC and the University of Westgern Washington.  Kempf was one of the lastg of the kickers who also played another position. Kempf made a splash in his rookie season with BC in 1963 with 109 points to finish second in the scoring in the West. It was Kempf's best year as a kicker with a near modern 66.7% field goal success rate. Kempf was named the top rookie in the West for his performance in 1963. Kempf finished second in the West in scoring in the next two seasons as well (1964 and 1965) with convert  percentages over 90% which was very good for the era.

Kempf had his best year as a receiver in his third season with BC in 1965 with 26 catches for 457 yards. Kempf moved to Montgreal for 1966 where he was fourth in the East in scoring, hit 93.8% of his converts and caught 18 passes. Kempf returned to the West and the Edmonton Eskimos in 1967 where he finished his career with a two year stay. In a bit of a rarity for that era, Kempf was good on all 29 convert attempts in 1967.
