Keith was an explosive runner who was a threat to break open a game with a big gain. Keith signed with the Saskatchewan in December of 2002 and soon took over the No. 1 running back job with the Riders. Keith ran for 705 yards in his rookie season on just 102 carries for a sparkling 7.0 yard average. Keith was signed by the New York Jets of the NFL for 2004, but was released and returned to the Riders where he rang up his first 1000 yard season with 1154 yards despite missing four games, and garnered a Western All-Star spot. injuries cost Keith five games and 1000 yards in 2005 as he ran for 911 yards. In 2006, Keith had his second 1000 yard season with 1037 while setting a career high in receptions with 52 for another 513 yards. Those numbers earned Keith his second Western All-Star award and another crack at the NFL as he signed with the Indianapolis Colts for 2007. Keith had a good 2007 for the Colts as their rbackup running back and rushing for 533 yards, but was released at the start of the 2008 season. Keith returned to the CFL with the Hamiton Tiger-Cats, but an injury limited his playing time. With the departure of Jesse Lumsden as a free agent to Edmonton, Keith figured to be the #1 back in Hamilton for 2008, but suffered an injury in training camp.
