Gordon Judges had a long and highly successful fourteen year career from 1968 to 1982 (he didn't play in 1969), mostly with the Montreal Alouttes, though he did start his career with the Argos. After playing highschool football, where he was a running back until his final year, Judges played one year of junior football with the Scarbrough Rams. In 1968, Judges tried out and made the Toronto Argos, but was injured in the second game of the season. When Judges was healthy, he was released by tge Argos as coach Leo Cahil elected to go with an extra non-import DB in Grant McKee. Judges finished the 1968 season with the Als, playing four games. Judges didn't play the entire 1969 season as he couldn't come to a contract deal with the Als. It was not a totally lost season, however, as Judges played for the Bramalea Satellites of the ORFU. In 1970, there was a total makeover in the Als with new owner Sam Berger, new head coach Sam Etcheverry, and new GM Red O'Quinn. Judges came to terms with Montreal for 11 seasons from 1970 until partway through the 1980 season when he ended back in Toronto. Judges was with the Argos again in 1981, but returned to Montreal in 1982 for his final season. Tgere were bi tackle stats kept during his career, and sack stats were only started in 1981, but Gord Judges was noted as an excellent pass rusher. Judges played mainly defensive tackle, but filled in at defensive end when injuries struck. In 1973, Judges was named to the East All-Star team. In 1972 and 1973, Judges was the Montreal nominee for Outstanding Canadian. Article on Gordon Judges from a 1974 CFL Program
