Khari Jones
Jones signed as a free agent with BC prior to the 1997 season, but didn't dress for any games in 1997. Jones remained with the Lions for two more season, but saw very little action (43 pass atttempts total in two seasons). BC traded JOnes to Winnipeg prior to the 2000 season, and Jones quickly took over as the #1 QB for the Blue Bombers. 2000 was not a bad season with 4142 yards, but only a 51.6% completion percentage. Jones really took off in 2001, however, as he blazed his way to East and All-Canadian All-Star selections and being named the Most Outstanding Player in the CFL. In 2001, Jones completed 60.3% of 546 passes 4545 yards. Jones put up even better stats in 2002, completing 61.6% of 620 passes for 5334 yards, but all he got for it was an East All-Star selection. Jones had another 4000+ yard passing season in 2003. With the Bombers struggling in 2004, Jones was traded to Calgary in September along with FB Randy Bowles and fourth round pick for S Wes Lysak, FB Scott Regimbald and DE Joe Fleming. When Calgary signed QB Henry Burris from Saskatchewan before the 2005 season, JOnes became expendable and he was released. Jones joined Hamilton in 2005 after the Tiger-Cats had inury problems at QB. After his release by Hamilton, Jones signed with Edmonton prior to the start of the 2006 season, but was released before the season started.
