Kevin Johnson

Kevin Johnson played his college football at prestigious Ohio State and from there signed as a free agent with the Calgary Stampeders for the 1999 season.  Johnson had a very good rookie season with 68 defensive tackles, 3 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries and 1 interception return that he took back 70 yards for a touchdown.  That earned Johnson a contract with Green Bay in the NFL, but he was released and returned to finish the 2000 season in Calgary.  2001 was a low point for Johnson's career as injuries limited him to just 3 games and he was released after the season.  Montreal signed Johnson in January of 2002 and he reeled off three straight East All-Star selections with the Alouettes from 2002-2004.  In 2003, Johnson was also selected the top defensive player in the East and runner-up for the league.  Johnson finished his career with one  final season with Montreal in 2005. Johnson played in three Grey Cup games, losing with Calgary in 1999 and Montreal in 2003 while winning with Montreal in 2002 (Johnson didn't play in the Calgary victory in 2001 or the Montreal loss in 2005).
