Brent Johnson

Brent Johnson played his college ball at Ohio State and was drafted by the BC Lions in the third round of the 2001 CFL college draft.  Johnson went South for a tryout with the Jacksonville Jaguars of the NFL, before returning to Canada and the Lions to finish the 2001 season.  Johnson quickly established himself as one of the best defensive ends in the CFL.  As of the end of the 2010 season, Johnson had accumulated 83 quarterback sacks which is the highest total among active players.  Johnson has won 5 West All-Stars (2004, 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2010) and 3 CFL All-Stars (2005, 2006 and 2008).  Johnson has twice been named the Outstanding Canadian in he CFL (2005 and 2006) and was also the Outstanding Defensive Player in 2006. If opposing quarterbacks fear the big defensive end, so do the opposing defensive backs.  Now and tghen Johnson is slipped into the game on offence. While his career receiving stats include only two catches, they both went for touchdowns.
