From the University of Northern Michigan, Ische was a four year letterman in football, co-captain of the 1965 and 1966 squads. Ische was a NAIA All-American honorable mention in 1965. Ische joined the Edmonton Eskimos in 1967 and played five seasons for the green andgold. After retiring as a player, Ische went on to be an assistant coach at the University of Western Ontario.
