John Hufnagel
Hufnagel had a tryout with the Denver Broncos of the NFL before signing with Calgary for the final seven games of the 1976 season. Hufnagel impressed by passing for 1327 yards and completing 55.1% of his passes while throwing more touchdowns (13) than interceptions (9) Hufnagel was the starting QB for the stamps in the next two seasons, throwing over 300 passes and 2000 yards in each season. Hufnagel lsot the #1 pivot spot to Ken Johnson in 1979 and played out his option to sign with Saskatchewan for 1980. Hufnagel played four seasons in Saskatchewan (1983-83) with 1981 being his best season with 2743 yards and a 56.3% completion percentage. Hufnagel was traded to Winnipeg in October of 1983 along with DE J.C. Pelusi for QB Nickie Hall, WR Nate Johnson, DL Jason Riley and a fourth round pick in the 1984 college draft. Hufnagel didn't see a lot of action in 84 and 85, but had his best season in 1986 when he threw for a caereer high 3394 yards and a 59.0% completion percentage. Hufnagel returned to Saskatchewan in 1987 in a competitive balance draft, but played only one game.
