After playing at Loyola and later McGill, Peter Howlett was drafted twice by CFL teams. Howlett was first drafted in the first round of the 1963 draft by Edmonton and then in the sixth round of the 1966 draft by the Winnpeg Blue bombers. Howlett ended up playing for neither team, but did play three seasons (1967-69) with his hometown Montreal Alouettes as a fullback and linebacker.
