Signed by Hamilton on September 6, 1996 and released on September 20, 1996 after playing only two games for them. Re-signed by Hamilton in March of 1997, but released June 14 before the season started. Hortan was promptly signed by Winnipeg on June 16 and was released on August 9 after appearing in three games for the Bombers.
