A native of BC, Wayne Holm played his college football at Simon Fraser. Holm was original drafted in the eight round of the 1969 CFL college draft by the BC Lions, but didn't sign with them and was drafted again the following year by the Calgary Stampeders who did sign him. Hom was another one of what would become a string of Canadian quarterbacks who would be converted to other positions. In four seasons in the CFL, Holm's passing stats equal exactly one pass attempt. Holm was used mainly on defence where he recorded three career interceptions and two fumble recoveries.. After that initial season with Calgary, in 1970, Holm returned to BC to play two seasons for the Lions in 1971 and 1972 before finishing his career with Toronto in 1973. After retiring from football, Holm went on to have a very successful career in buiness. And while he didn't make it into the football Hall of Fame, Holm is a member of the BC Restaurant Hall of Fame.
