Pierrre Guindon was born in Apple HIll, Ontario, but moved to Cornwall when he was eight. Guindon attended high school and played football at St. Lawrence Classical College where he was an offensive guard and a defensive tackle. Moving on to college with the Ottawa Gee-Gees, Guindon also took up placekicking. Guindon was Winnipeg's first round pick in the 1968 CFL College draft and played two years with the Bombers. Guindon was sixth in the West in scoring in 1968 and seventh in 1969. This was a t ime when the CFL was moving towards dedicated place kickers, but Guindon's stats match up well with the early dedicated kickers of that time such as Ted Gerela and Dave Cutler. While playing for the Bombers, Guindon also was enrolled in law school. Guindon was traded to Montreal for hte 1971 season, but was released after just three games. Guindon returned to university at Ottawa and completed his law degree while playing for the Ottawa Sooners junior team which at the time was playing in a senior football league. Pierre Guindon was elected to the Glengarry (Ontario), Sports Hall of Fame in 1995. Pierre Guindon in the Glengarry Sports HOF
