Grant was drafted in the third round (24th overall) by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 1991. Grant played two seasons (1991 and 1992) with Winnipeg, mainly as a backup defensive lineman. Grant did not play in 1993 and 1994, but returned to the CFL as a freeagent signing by Hamilton in March of 1995. Hamilton released Grant in June of 1995, but resigned him in October of 1995 and he played in 9 games for them that season.
