A native of Vancouver, Rick Goltz is another one of many Simon Fraser grads to play in the CFL. Goltz played ten years in the CFL, from 1978 to 1987 with BC, Calgary and Saskatchewan. Goltz started his career in BC in 1978 after being a first round draft pick of the Lions in the 1978 CFL college draft. After five seasons in BC (1978-82), Goltz signed as a free agent with Calgary for one season (1983) and then moved to Saskatchewan as a free agent for four years (1984-87). Goltz's stats are not complete since there were no quarterback sack stats kept for his first three seasons, but he recorded 35.5 quarterback sacks with a career high of 9 in one season with Saskatchewan in 1984.
Official tackle stats were first kept in 1987 and quarterback sacks stats in 1981.
