Peter Giftopolous

Giftopolous was a first round draft pick (sixth overall) by the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 1988.  After attending the PIttsburgh Steelers training camp, Giftopolous was released and signed by Saskatchewan who then traded him to Hamilton for a first round pick in the 1989 draft and RB Shawn Daniels in August of 1988.  Giftopolous played his entire eight year career in Hamilton.  He became a regular in his second season in Hamilton in 1989 and was a starter for the next two seasons recording 77 tackles in 1990 and 62 in 1991.  Giftopolous lost his starting job in 1992 and was a backup linebacker and offensive lineman as well as a leading special teams player for the Tiger-Cats from 1993 until the end of his career in 1995.
