Ed George was an oustanding offensive lineman who played seven years in the CFL and four years in the NFL. George was a fourth round draft pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1970, but elected to come North to the CFL and the Montreal Alouttes instead. George played five years with the Als from 1970 to 1974, winning East Division All-Star honours in all five seaons. George also was named to the CFL All-Star in four of those years (1971-74). George won his first three All-Star awards at offensive tackle and the last two at offensive guard. George was also the first winner of the CFL Outstandng Offensive Lineman Award in 1974. After the 1974 season, George went to the NFL and played for Baltimore in 1975 and Philadelphia from 1976 to 1978. George returned to the CFL in 1979 and played two seasons for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Ed George was elected to the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in 2005.
