From West Texas State*, Dave Gasser played six seasons with Edmonton as a linebacker from 1967 to 1972. It was Gasser's misfortune to be a very good linebacker on some otherwise bad Edmonton clubs of that era. The Eskimos were just starting to put the pieces together for a team that would make a habit of being in the Grey Cup for the next decade as Gasser was leaving. Gasser won three West All-Stars (1970, 1971 and 1972) and one CFL All-Star (1972). Gasser recorded 6 career interceptions, 7 career fumble recoveries and 2 blocked kicks.
