Shawn Gallant played 11 seasons in the CFL from 2000 to 2010 with Saskatchewan, Ottawa, Winnipeg (twice) and Montreal. Gallant played mainly on special teams, but also saw action at safety and linebacker on defence. Gallant was a second round draft pick of the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the 2000 CFL college draft. Gallant played two years in green and white, with his best season defensively coming in his second season in 2001. Gallant recorded a career high 36 tackles and three interceptons, including one returned for a touchdown. Gallant was selectged by the Ottawa Renegades in the 2002 expansion draft. Gallant played three seasons in Ottawa (2002-04) before joinng Winnpeg in 2005 as a free agent. Despite tying for the CFL lead in special teams tackles in 2006, Gallant was released by the Bombers. A free agent again, Gallant signed with Montreal in 2007 for two seasons (2007-08), before returning for his second stint with the Bombers (2009-10) to finish his career. 2009 was an outstanding season for Gallant as a special teams player as he recorded 30 special teams tackles.
