Forde was drafted both by the CFL and the NFL. The BC Lions took Forde in the first round (eighth overall) in the 1988 draft while the New Orleans Saints drafted Forde n the seventh round.After a sting with the Saints, Forde moved on to tryouts with Atlanta and Denver before finally signing with the Edmonton Eskimos of the CFL in 1994. Edmonton traded Forde to BC for offensive lineman Leo Groenwegen. After two seasons in bC, Forde became a free agent for the 1996 season and was signed in July of 1996 by Montreal. Montreal released Forde in April of 1997.
