Fred Fleming played both offensive and defensive guard. Fleming started his CFL career with Calgary in 1961, and continued with the Stampeders until 1964. A broken ankle in 1963 reduced Fleming's playing time and Calgary released him in September of 19964. Fleming was then picked up by Winnipeg where he played two games. In 1965, Fleming returned to the Stampeders to play two games. In 1966, Fleming tried out with Edmonton, but was released in July before the season started. After retiring from football as a player, Fred Fleming spent time as the colorman on Stampeder radio broadcasts.
