Eric Fleet played for the Montreal Hornets in the IRFU (Interprovinical Rugby Footall Union) in 1945 - the Hornets were the immediate predessessors of the Alouettes who were formed in 1946. Fleet went on to play for the Als in that inaugral season. In 1947, Fleet moved to Toronto to join the Argos for one season.
