Fields was a ninth round draft pick of the Los Angelas Rams of the NFL in 1991. After his rlease by the Rams, he signed with Hamilton in October of 1991, playing 5 games that season for the Tiger-Cats. In 1992, Fields was an East All-Star at DT with 52 tackles and 7 QB sacks. Fields also ran an interception back 10 yards for a TD. Fields was a free agent in 1993, resigning withi Hamilton in October of 1993. Partway through the 1994 season (September), Fields was traded alng with LB Glen Young to Toronto for QB Reggie Slack
