Bart Evans was born in Winnipeg and played his college football at the University of Manitoba. With the Bisons, Evans was a four time All-Star offensive guard, and in 1974 won the Johnny Metras Trophy as the Outstanding Lineman in Canadian College footall. Evans had a tryout with the Montreal Alouettes in 1974 and was one of their last cuts, as he returned to Manitoba for one final season. Evans would make the Als in 1975, and while he didn't dress for any regular season games due to injuries, he did did play in the 1975 Grey Cup in which the Alouettes lost to Edmonton 9-8. In July of 1976, Evans was involved ina massive eight player trade that saw the Alouettes aquire All-Star running back Andy Hopkins and the rights to Jerry Keeling in exchange for quarterback Jimmy Jones, running back Jimmie Edwards, guard Daryl White, defensive back Lewis Cook, defensive tackle Gordon Stewart and Evans. Evans would play three and a half seasons for the Tiger-Cats (1976-79), dressing in 58 straight regular season games. Evans was traded in September of 1979 to Winnipeg for defensive lineman Linden Davidson, and Evans finished the 1979 season with Winnipeg, playing six games. Evans was traded to the Toronto Argonauts in March, 1980 for import defensive lineman Ecomet Burley, but elected to retire due to his job in Winnipeg as a financial analyst.
