Signed by BC in May of 1985. Traded to Calgary along with WR Jamie Haris for Calgary's third round draft pick in the 1987 draft in June 1986. Released Calgary in August, 1986. Signed by Winnipeg in May of 1987, but traded to Montreal along with RB Sean Kehoe for future considerations before playing any games with Winnipeg. When Montreal folded before the start of the 1987 season, Emery was drafted by Winnipeg in the fourth round of the dispersal draft in June of 1987. Released by Winnpeg in July of 1987 and signed by Ottawa. Returned to winnipeg yet again in October 1987 to complete a previous trade.
