Out of the University of North Dakota, Weston Dressler joined the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2008. The small, speedy receiver quickly became a fan favourite both for his pass catching ability and electrifying kick returns. Dressler's close to the border origins made him an honorary Canadian and part of he group of receivers dubbed the "Canadian Air Force" that conisted of Dressler, Andy Fantuz, Chris Getzlaf and Rob Bagg.
Dressler played six seasons for the green and white (2008-13). In those six seasons, Dressler had five 1000+ seasons, won four West All-Stars (2009, 2011, 2012, 2013) and two CFL All-Stars (2012 and 2013). Dressler played in three Grey Cups with the Riders, losing in 2009 (the infamous too many men on the field penalty) and 2010 to Montreal before winning in 2013 on home field against Hamilton.
In January, 2014, The Riders released Dresser, so that he could sign with the NFL. Dressler signed with the Kansas City Chiefs and requested #13 to honour the thirteenth man (Rider fans).
