Glen Dobbs

Dobbs was a first round pick (third overall) by the Chicogo Cardinals of the NFL in 1943.  Dobbs played four years in the All-American Football Confrence (AAFC) with the Brooklyn Dodgers (1946-47) and the Los Angelas Dons (1948-49).  Dobbs joined the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 1951 and was am immediate hit with Rider fans.  So much so, that Regina took on the nick name Dobberville.  Dobbs was a West All-Star (there were no CFL All-Stars until 1962) and took the Riders to the Grey Cup in that rookie season, but they lost to Ottawa.  Dobbs took over as the Rider head coach as well as QB in 1952, but it was a bad year for Saskatchewan.
