Ed Czapaiak was born in 1927 and was raised in Niagra Falls, NY. Czapiak was a seman during World War II then played one season at quarterback for Notre Dame before switching unversities and positions to go to Arizona State and play tackle. After college, Czapiak had an offer to play baseball with the Cleveland Indians, but chose football instead. Czapiak played one season with the Hamilton Wildcats in 1949 (the Wildcats would merge with the Hamilton Tigers to form the Tiger-Cats in 1950). Czapiak also played with the Brantford team in the ORFU in 1952 and 1953. Czapiak returned to the States where he had a long 45 year career with the New York State Division of Youth. Czapiak played witgh the Ed Czapiak passed away on April 11, 2012. |
