From the University of Ohio, Chip Cox signed with the Montreal Alouettes prior to the 2006 season. Cox became one of those defensive backs who was converted to play outside linebacker in order to add more speed to the defence both for pass coverage and to pressure opposing quarterbacks. The conversion in Cox's case was incredibly successfull as he has won four straight (2009-12) East All-Stars at linebacker and three CFL All-Stars (2009-211). Cox was with the Alouettes for their two Grey Cup victories in 2009 and 2010.
