Congdon was a long snapper on punts and fieldgoals as well as a backup linebacker. Congdon started his career with Winnipeg, signing as a free agent in February, 2002. After two seasons with the Bombers, Congdon signed as a free agent with Montreal in June, 2004. Congdon finished his career with Hamilton in 2005.
