Coming out of Utah State, John Chick signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders in December, 2006. Chick impressed asa rookie with 5 sacks in 13 games and running a fumble back 70 yards for a touchdown. Chick also played a big part in the Roughrider Grey Cup win in that rookie season of 2007. Injuries limited Chick to just 8 games in 2008, but he bounced back in a big way in 2009. Chick recorded 11 sacks and was named to the West and CFL All-Star teams as well as being named the Outstandng Defensive Player in the CFL. Following the 2009 season, Chick signed as a free agent with the Indianapolis Colts of the NFL. Chick did not crack the lineup in the fall of 2010, but acceptd a spot on the Colt's practice roster.
