Tim Cheatwood signed as a free agent with Hamilton in May of 2002 as the Tiger-Cats were looking for a rush end to replace Joe Montford. Cheatwood showed promise in his rooie season with 5 quarterback sacks then really turned it on with 10 in 2003 and 14 in 2004 to Win East All-Star selections in both years. Cheatwood also won a CFL All-Star in 2004. Chatwood's success in 2004 led to a tryout with the Houston Texans of the NFL. After his release by the Texas, Cheatwood returned to Hamilton and finished the 2005 season with the Tiger-Cats. Combined with some injuries, Cheatwwod's numbers decline in 2006 and he was let go as a free agent and signed by Montreal. The Als released Cheatwood before he played any regular season games for them and he signed on with Edmonton for 2007, but played only 7 games for the Esks. Cheatwood finished with 44 career quarterback sacks.
