Bill Chambers played two years at UCLA (1946-47) and starred in the 1947 Rose Bowl. Chambers turned pro with the New York Yanks of the old AAFC where he played two seasons (1948-49). Chambers signed with the Montreal Alouettes in July of 1951 and playd in all 12 games for the Als in 1951* as a guard and tackle. In 1952, Pea Head Walker took over as the Alouttes coach and Chambers was among the veterans released by Walker. Chambers signed with Ottawa in 1952, but was released partway through the season on October 1, 1952. Bill Chambers passed away in September of 1983. * Some versions of the Montreal All-Time Roster are missing Bill Chambers and incorrectly list Jim Chambers as playing for Montreal in 1951.
