Born in Windsor, Ontario, Michael Carter pleyed his college ball i nthe states with Maryland.  After one season with Hamilton (2011), Carter joined the Montreal Alouettes in 2012.

The Montreal Alouettes announced on Monday that the club has re-signed a pair of non-import defenders in safety Daryl Townsend and defensive back Michael Carter. Both players have agreed to new three-year deals with the club and will be valuable assets to team's success in 2014.

Carter (5'10", 175 lbs.) made significant strides to solidify his place within the Alouettes' defence providing the team with the flexibility to play him in multiple positions in the secondary. The Windsor, Ontario native dressed in 17 regular season games in 2013, earning extensive playing time and developing in the rotation in relief of starters.

"Michael has continued to grow with our team each year," added Popp. "He is competitive and strives to be a major contributor each week. Mike is starting to come into his own."

Carter recorded eight defensive tackles and contributed on special teams with seven tackles last year.
