Mike Cacic came out of the Vancouver junior football program to play 10 seasons in the CFL from 1957 to 1967 (Cacic didn't play in 1959). After a strong rookie season in 1957 , Cacic was injured early in the 1958 and missed most of the season. In 1959, Cacic was unable to reach a contract agreement with the Lions and sat out the entire season. Cacid returned to the Lions in 1960 and his career began to really take off. Cacic won three West All-Star selections at defensive tackle (1964, 1965 and 1966) as well as a CFL All-Star in 1964. In 1966, Cacic was the BC nominee for both Outstanding Canadian and Outstanding Lineman. Cacic was a member of the 1964 BC Lions team that won the first Grey Cup in franchise history. Mike Cacic passed away on January 22, 2008.
