Ross Buckle was born in London, Ontario and played three years with the hometown London Lords of the ORFU from 1956 to 1958. Buckle joined the Montreal Alouettes in 1959 and played six seasons for them from 1959-64. Buckle played mainly defensive end, but saw some limited action on offence. in 1961 when he caught 5 passes, two of them went for touchdowns including one for 94 yards.
