Brown had tryouts with the Washington Redskins and the San Francisco 49ers of the NFL in 1992 before being signed by the Sacremento Gold Miners. Brown became a free agent in February of 1995, and signed with the San Antono Texans who were transplanted from Sacramento. Montreal drafte Brown in the seventh round of the dispersal draft of the US teams and then released in August of 1996.
