Ron Brewer came from the Parkdale Lions (Toronto) junior team and went on to a strong ten year career in the CFL from 1958 to 1967. Brewer started his career with the Toronto Argonauts in 1958 and played three seasons for the Argos from 1958 to 1960. Brfewer was traded to the Alouettes for 1961 and then returned back to the Argos in a trade for Jim Andreotti and Pete Farlinger to play three more seasons with the Argos (1963-65). Brewer was traded by the Argos along with John Wydareny to Edmonton for linebacker Al Ecuyer and Barry Mitchelson where he played one season (1966). Brewer retired after the 1966 season, but was coaxed out of retirment in September, 1967 by Hamilton who sent Mike Law to Edmonton in exchange for his rights. Fittingly enough, Ron Brewer finally got a Grey Cup championship with Hamilton in his final season. Brewer won three East division All-Stars, 1961 with Montreal and 1964 and 1965 with Toronto. Brewer was also a CFL All-Star in 1964. Brewer was known for his aggressive play which sometimes got him in trouble with league officials.
