After playing at Brigham Young, the speedy Brady joined the Montreal Alouettes in 1966. Brady was one of the last of the breed of players who could switch between offence and defence, being used at running back or at defensive back as needed. Brady was mainly a tailback at university, but the Alouettes used Brady mainly on defence. Brady did, however, have 202 yards rushing in his first season in 1966 and caught 13 paases. In his second season, Brady had 11 catches for 226 yards while rushing for another 72. Brady had a pair of interceptions in both seasons and was named an East All-Star at defensive back in 1967. As well, Brady was used on both kickoff and punt returns while with the Alouettes. After leaving the Alouettes, Brady signed w ith the NFL's Denver Broncos and played 4 games for them in 1969.
