Phil Boyce (1973-76) was one of the finest wide receivers in the annals of Cougar (Azusa Pacific) football, setting program career standards for touchdown receptions (17), all-purpose yards (2,913) and punt (35) and kickoff returns (33). In his 30-game Cougar career, he became only the second receiver ever to record over 100 receptions and 1,600 receiving yards. As a 1975 junior he led Azusa Pacific to its first-ever winning season (7-3) with team highs of 42 receptions for 681 yards. Boyce joined the Montreal Alouttes in 1977, playing two games. After his football career ended, Boyc embarked on a career as a health administer. As of 2010, Boyce lived in Jacksonville, FL., where he was a senior vice-president for Baptist Health System.
