After playing at St. Michael's College (Toronto), Fred Black joined the Argonauts in 1949. Black would go on to be a fixture on the Argo's line for 11 seasons until 1960 (he didn't play in 1958). Black won two Grey Cups with Toronto, in 1950 and in 1952.
