Kai Bjorn was born in Montreal and played his college football in the CIS ranks at Bishop's for four seasons (1991-94). Undrafted, Bjorn signed with the Ottawa Rough Riders in 1995.Bjorn dressed for 17 games in his rookie season in 1995 and started 12 of them. Bjorn spent most of 1996 on the injury list,appearing in only four games. Bjorn split the 1997 season between the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and the Montreal Alouettes.
