Matthieu Bertrand was a quarterback at the University of Laval, but the CFL wasn't interested much in Canadian quarterbacks. Edmonton drafted Bertrand and converted him to a fullback. Bertrand played nine seasons (2004-2012) with Edmonton before being released early in March, 2013.
