Brock Aynsley was born in Vancouver, and played college football at Washington State. Aynsley was a track star and had speed to burn. Aynsley broke in with the B.C. Lions in 1973 and had seven catches in limited playing time in his rookie season. Aynsley's speed and ability started to show in 1974 with the Lions when he had 25 catches in just nine games and a 18.1 yard average catch. After one more season in BC, and saw limited action with 18 catches in ten games. Aynsley was traded by the Lions after the 1975 season along with defensive end David Boone and linebacker Larry Cameron to Ottawa for defensive end Wayne Smith to the coast. Aynsley did not want to play in Ottawa, and instead signed with the Montreal Alouettes. In compensation for Aynsley, the CFL awarded Ottawa both of Montreal's territorial exemptions for the 1977 college draft. Aynsley had 20 catches in his first year in Montreal and then set a career high with 39 catches for 739 yards and an excellent 18.9 yard average in 1977. Those numbers earned Aynsley an East All-Star in 1977. All in all, 1977 was a very good year for Aynsley as the Alouettes also won the Grey Cup in 1977. Aynsley started the 1978 season with Montreal, but was released after 12 cames, and finished the season with Hamilton. Aynsley played with Hamilton in 1979 and finished his career in 1980, splitting time between Hamilton and Winnipeg.
