Ayanbadejo signed with Winnipeg as a free agen on July 20, 2000. He was released on October 18, 2000. He was signed by Toronto on October 27, 2000 and played 3 more games with the Argos before being released in November. After a year away from the CFL, Ayanbadejo signed with BC for the 2002 season and had an excellent season with 77 defensive tackles and another 27 special teams tackles. Taht caught the attention of the Miami Dolphins who signed Ayanbadejo after the 2002 season.
