Chris Armstrong started his pro career in the Arena Football League with Washington in 1990, before signing as a free agent with Edmonton in September, 1991. Armstrong had 23 catches in just 8 games and came back in 1992 with Edmonton and had 31 catches in 12 games before being released in October of 1992 Armstrong was picked up immediately by Ottawa and had 2 catches for them in two games. In 1993, Armstrong had a tryout with the New England Patriots of the NFL but was released. Armstrong then went to training camp with the expansion Los Vegas Posse in 1994 but was released before the season started. The Baltimore Stallions picked up Armstrong and he exploded for them, with a couple of thousand yard seasons and winning an East All-Star in 1994 and a South All-Star in 1995. Armstrong came to Montreal when the Baltimore team relocated to la Belle Province. Armstrong just missed his third straight thousand yard season receving with 979 yards in 1996, but reached that magical mark again in 1997 with 1411 yards on a career high 80 catches. Armstrong was released by the Als in August of 1998. He had ony 44 catches in 13 games but had 850 yards for an excellent a 19.3 yard average. Winnipeg picked up Armstrong to finish the the season and had 23 catches for 312 yards to finish with 67 catches and 1162 yards for his fourth thousand pulus yard season. 1999 was almost a mirror image of 1998, but this time Armstrong started the year in Winnipeg and was released in August and then picked up by Montreal in early September. Armstrong finished that split season, his last, with 47 catches for 707 yards. Armstrong's career totals were 449 catches for 8104 yards.
