Frank Anderson played college football from 1947-50 for the Oklahoma Sooners, and won All-American honours in 1950. Anderson joined the Edmonton in 1952, and played six seasons for the Eskimos from 1952 to 1957. Anderson, nicknamed Blood and Guts, won five West All-Stars at defenseive end in consecutuve years from 1953 to 1957 (there were no CFL All-Stars until 1962). Anderson played in four Grey Cups, losing in his rookie season in 1952, but winning in three consecutive years with the powerful Edmonton team from 1954 to 1956. Best remembered for his defensive play, Anderson also was used on offense, especially early in his career with 16 catches in 1952 and 22 catches in 1953. Frank Anderson passed away on September 28, 1983 and is honoured on Edmonton's Wall of Honour. Wikipedia article on Frank Anderson
